Eros Ramazzotti celebrated his 40th birthday Promised Land at the Sanremo Festival 2024: it was 1984 when he made his debut on the Ariston stage with this song, which earned him first place in the New Proposals category (THE SPECIAL – THE LIVE – THE LIST OF THE THIRD NIGHT – THE REPORT CARDS OF THE THIRD NIGHT OF THE FESTIVAL ). At the end of the performance, Ramazzotti launched an appeal for peace: “There are almost 500 million children living in conflict zones, millions more who will never see the promised land: enough blood, enough wars. Peace! Our thoughts forever”.

Ramazzotti reflected on his career with Amadeus: “I have to thank my father more than anyone who gave me the push. I appeal to parents who should always leave their children free will to try to do things”, he said, citing as an example also the support of Sinner’s father for the tennis champion. And he recalled three unforgettable moments of his long and brilliant career: “The arrival in Milan from Rome: I couldn’t see the city, there was fog, but I liked the energy of the city between music, fashion, art. The signature with the Sony in ’95 and then the meeting with Tina Turner.”

What the Roman singer hopes to find, he and all humanity, is a place of peace and serenity where our dreams can be realized.
Dreams of any kind, from the biggest to the smallest that exist. In short: dreams from every point of view.
Between the lines, then, we read that there is always a light at the end of the tunnel, we just need to know how to find it and then, little by little, head towards it, which must be our lighthouse.
However, on the other side, the light at the end of the tunnel coincides with the future, with the hope that things can change. Therefore that “Promised Land” mentioned in the title could take on a less attractive meaning, in the sense that – as we well know – it is theHere and now (the old, dear, sacrosanct “here and now”) that will save us.
Projecting oneself into the future in fact means not living in the present, that is, not living at all. Because, as we well know but too often forget, ultimately the only time that really exists for us is the here and now, but we are the only animals that are tormented by a continuous existence at the mercy of the past and the future , memories and expectations, missing out on everything that this life actually holds for us: the now.
Without bothering the philosophers, it would be enough to quote John Lennon, calling into question one of his most famous aphorisms: “Life is what happens to you while you are making other plans”.

The song Terra Promise consecrated Eros Ramazzotti as an absolute legend
It was 1984 when the Italian public found itself listening for the first time Promised Landsung by a young debuting Roman artist.
A name, his, that we would later hear pronounced for many years, forty to be precise, given that we are on the cusp of the fortieth anniversary of that legendary song of his.
The music and lyrics were so successful that Ramazzotti won the victory at the Sanremo Festival in the “New Proposals” category.
Thanks to that Promised LandEros Ramazzotti reached many “lands”: Italy first and foremost, but then also Switzerland, Germany and Austria, countries in which the Italian singer boasts resounding success.
In 1997 the song was re-proposed under a new guise, in the collection Eros, in which the lyrics are also sung in Spanish. The original version, however, was included in the collections e²released in 2007, and in Eros 30released in 2014 for the 30th anniversary of Ramazzotti’s career.
The full version of the song was only released on vinyl.
