Hayk Mamijanyan, head of the NA “I have honor” faction, spoke to journalists today before Armen Ashotyan’s regular court session about the response of the CE Secretary General to Armen Ashotyan’s arrest.
According to Hayk Mamijanyan, reactions from Europe were at the highest level.
“The EPP statement clearly states that Armen Ashotyan is a political prisoner, and a demand is made to release him and stop the groundless criminal prosecution. Back in the summer, there was a statement from the Union of Centrist Democrats from Syria, in which it is stated in very clear and dry terms that there is political persecution against Mr. Ashotyan and that he is a political prisoner. “Anyone who has worked with European structures can notice that both this and the preceding statements characterize the attitude of European international organizations towards this process,” Hayk Mamijanyan noted.
According to the MP, there have been various political criminal cases with political motives in different parts of the world, but Armen Ashotyan’s case is already beyond the genre of absurdity.
