European markets opened today’s trading session with gains, as investors continue to analyze expectations for a cut in key interest rates after last week’s Federal Reserve meeting, reports BTA, citing CBS.

In Frankfurt, the DAX rose 34.05 points, or 0.19 percent, to 18,035.95.

The Paris CAC 40 rose 5.83 points, or 0.07 percent, to 7,963.4 points.

The pan-European Stoxx 600 was up 0.17 percent in early trade, with almost all sectors in the green.

The London Stock Exchange is closed for a public holiday.

Asian stocks were also mostly green in today’s trade after Wall Street closed Friday with its biggest gain in two months, bolstered by data on a cooling U.S. labor market.

The Hang Seng in Hong Kong lost 0.2 percent to 18,447.12, while the Shanghai Composite rose 0.9 percent to 3,133.92. Both exchanges opened after long holidays. Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 added 0.5 percent to 7,669.50 and Taiwan’s Taiex rose 1.2 percent.

Stock exchanges in Japan and South Korea are closed for holidays.
