Yorwings (Eurowings), the subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group, launched its operations in Israel today (Saturday). An Airbus A320 aircraft with 180 seats landed in Tel Aviv, on the first flight at 12:55. Eurowings distinguishes itself from other low-cost airlines thanks to its positioning as Europe’s affordable airline for leisure and business travelers.

Eurowings’ fleet includes more than 100 aircraft, flying to 150 destinations in more than 50 countries, and staffed by employees from the same number of countries. With 11 international bases – including Mallorca, the number 1 holiday island in Europe – the subsidiary of the Lufthansa Group is one of the largest leisure airlines in Europe. Unlike Lufthansa, Eurowings offers only direct point-to-point flights – no connecting flights.

Brussels Airlines will resume its flights to Tel Aviv starting March 24, 2024. The Belgian airline will start operating 3 weekly flights on Mondays, Thursdays and Sundays from Brussels to Tel Aviv. These flights will take place until the end of April. At a later stage, flight frequencies and schedules may be updated in cooperation with all Lufthansa Group companies.

From January 8, 2024, the Lufthansa Group gradually resumed its flights to Tel Aviv, after a break of almost three months since October 9, 2023. Lufthansa, SWISS and Austrian Airlines were the first Western European airlines to resume their flights from Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Vienna to Tel Aviv. All companies operate their flights to Tel Aviv using an aircraft from the Airbus A320 family.
Due to the growing demand from passengers for flights to/from Ben Gurion Airport, the Lufthansa Group has expanded its flight program on the existing routes. As of March 4, Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines increased the number of flights on their routes from Frankfurt (an additional weekly flight), Munich (2 additional flights), Vienna (2 additional flights) and Zurich (2 additional flights).
Together with the new routes to Dusseldorf and Brussels, the airlines of the Lufthansa Group will now offer 29 weekly flights from Tel Aviv, a 45% increase in the number of seats offered compared to January 2024. Additional flights will be added during the month of April.
