A helicopter EMERCOM of Russia has started evacuating the crew of the Rise Shine container ship. Earlier today, November 9, the ship ran aground off the coast of Nakhodka. The ship’s crew includes 14 Chinese citizens.
“The Russian Emergencies Ministry’s Mi-8 helicopter has begun to evacuate the crew of the Rise Shine container ship. Since there is no helipad on board the ship, people are lifted up on a winch, ”emergency services told TASS.
According to open databases on ships, the length of the Rise Shine is 101 m, the width is 19 m. The container ship flies under the flag of Panama.
The Rise Shine’s hull received several holes, but the vessel did not fall apart as previously reported. “There are holes in the hull of the vessel, there are cracks, according to available data, but the vessel has not collapsed,” Rosmorrechflot press secretary Alexei Kravchenko told RIA Novosti.
