People are also exposed to indirect smoke through smoking zones. As a result, 1,61,000 people die annually in the country. E-cigarettes and smoking zones should be closed by amending the law.

In his welcome speech, Director of Health and WASH Sector Iqbal Masood said that if the draft that the Ministry of Health has prepared for further amendments to the Tobacco Control Act is passed, the law in the country will be consistent and stronger with the FCTC. As a result, the formation of tobacco-free Bangladesh announced by the Prime Minister will be accelerated by 2040.
