“Everything burns as planned 2”, social zozos – Liberation

Adrien Yeung delivers a new sum on paper of his crazy, absurd and cute Instagram strips.

A man with a dick on his head, a badger who pays your bills, an expert in seduction in extreme environments, a reader of the stormy weather by Nicolas Sarkozy… These funny zozos are all the fruit of the imagination of Adrien Yeung, a young comic strip author based in Strasbourg. Like other cartoonists who are just as hilarious as they are venerable (let us mention, for example, tienstiens, whose first comic strip, Koko does not like capitalismis to pee on), Adrien Yeung cut his teeth on Instagram, where young artists scrap tirelessly and for free for the holy grail of visibility. Everything burns as expected 2, which has just been published a year after the first one by the Marseille publishing house Even Not Bad, is a compilation of his zinzin strips originally intended for square windows and the swipe to the right. A series of absurd and cute sketches at the same time, where characters with naive features (the designer masters particularly well the delicious facial expression known as the “delighted child of the nursery”, cf. the covers of the two volumes) happily play the bamboozle. All punctuated by horoscopes with irreproachable scientific rigor, provided in volume 2 by guest authors – among others the mega-funny Salomé Lahoche and Elodie Shanta.

In a very gratifying strip, a new recruit in the land of eternal life asks his neighbor, in a large room where we are bored while waiting for a joint that spins: “How do you choose who goes to heaven?” Easy, replies the other: “You have to be on the left.” We are delighted. While waiting to go to paradise, let’s turn the pages: a lion fights against a hedgehog, a banker fights against the ice floe (and loses), cars fly, Gérard Jugnot is President of the Republic, a tasteful restaurant serves 8.6 gold very warm as it should be. The world is fine. Still, rams, beware of your dog.

Everything burns as expected 1 et 2 by Adrien Yeung, Éditions Even not bad, 15 euros each.
