EVR Motors has signed a fourth commercial agreement in India

by time news

The start-up company “EVR Motors” Matach Tikva, which develops ground-breaking electric motors for vehicles, has signed an agreement with RSB Group, one of India’s leading “Tier 1” suppliers to the automotive industry. RSB was founded in 1975 and manufactures subsystems for the global automotive industry in 13 factories: 11 in India, one in the USA and one in Mexico. Its products are marketed to companies such as Isuzu, Daimler India, Volvo-Ischer, Tata Motors and more.

The agreement with RSB Group is the fourth in a chain of agreements signed by EVR in the last 8 months, when it was preceded by agreements signed with the companies Badve Group, Napino and EKA Mobility. Each of these partners is at a different stage of establishing a production line of electric motors based on EVR’s proprietary and innovative topology. According to the plan, the EVR electric motors will be supplied to car manufacturers in India from the second half of 2023.

Following the four signed agreements, EVR expanded its technological offering to electric motors for most vehicle types. The agreements with RSB Group and “EKA Mobility” introduced EVR to the development of electric motors for light commercial trucks (LCVs – Light Commercial Vehicles) that will be based on the TS – RFPM (Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet) trapezoidal stator topology. These agreements are milestones in EVR’s entry into the categories of family cars, electric buses and light commercial vehicles, which will expand its existing activity in the two- and three-wheeled vehicle markets.

“EVR has now established a wholly-owned subsidiary, EVR India, to serve its expanding customer base in the country. EVR India will manufacture the unique electric coil that will be integrated into the electric motors, a key component of EVR’s new patent-pending motor topology. The coils produced will be used by both the Indian automotive industry and the EVR customers around the world. The EVR India team, which is currently located in the Delhi area, will have 30 employees, including development engineers, production, procurement and customer support personnel who will be recruited in the coming year. The company will provide its partners with critical engine parts that will be characterized by economic viability and low risk. This will simplify the establishment of lines Their production will support widespread distribution.

EVR has appointed Sajal Kishore as Director of EVR India. Kishore, who contributed to the formulation of the company’s business strategy in India and its implementation, previously held senior positions in Indian automobile companies.

EVR Motors has developed a unique motor topology for which 10 patents have been approved in the last year: trapezoidal stator TS – RFPM (Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux Permanent Magnet). It makes it possible to produce smaller, lighter and cheaper engines that can be adapted to customer requirements.

The size and weight of EVR motors is 30% to 50% smaller than existing electric motors and their price is significantly lower. The company’s first engines were designed for two-wheeled and three-wheeled vehicles and can be adapted to a wide range of other applications. The product line today includes four families, from 3KW to 135KW. This variety allows EVR to enter growing market segments such as family cars, light trucks and electric buses.

Ofer Doron, CEO of EVR Motors: “The establishment of EVR India and the series of agreements we have signed in India are additional milestones in our unprecedented momentum in the Indian market, which is advancing at a dizzying pace in the global race to electrify vehicles. We apply approaches of competitive costs and a supply of best-in-class engines in this market. We have been able to build collaborations with Tier 1 companies with excellent industrial capabilities, an ambition for innovation and a broad customer base, and thanks to these collaborations we will be able to supply electric motors for most types of vehicles.”

EVR Motors is supported by a group of investors led by Marius Necht, one of the leading figures in Israel in serial entrepreneurship, founding technology companies and high tech investments. These days, EVR is working on a recruitment round with the aim of accelerating market penetration, increasing production capacity and developing additional engines.

The company has been managed since 2019 by Ofer Doron, who served in his previous position as the director of the Aerospace Industry’s space plant, and led the aerospace industry team that designed and built SpaceIL’s Berashit spacecraft. Ofer Doron was also responsible for the development, construction, launch and operation of the aerospace industry’s communication and observation satellites for Israeli and foreign users.

EVR Motors was founded by the company’s current president and chief operating officer, Eli Rozinski, along with Victor Keslo and Ruslan Shabinski. The chairman of the company is Ofir Shoham, the former head of MPAAT, who leads the high tech investments of Marius Necht. The company employs about 40 people in Petah Tikva and India, including four PhD holders, engineers, the engine assembly team and a control and testing group.
