Eight years after its last film was screened and four years after it officially announced its retirement from the world of acting, Cameron Diaz is back on cinema screens. This morning, actor Jamie Foxx tweeted a video on his Twitter account in which he shows a recorded phone call with Diaz and tries to convince her to join him in the cast of the film – Back in Action, which will be produced by the streaming giant Netflix.

In the recorded conversation Fox brought on the line “by surprise” the legendary football player Tom Brady. Of course, the choice of Brady was not accidental, as the player himself announced his retirement over the past year, a decision from which he had time to go back and announce that he intends to play again. In a clip released, Diaz said that she is “excited” to return and star in the film Back in Action, which will be uploaded to Netflix, and work on it is expected to begin at the end of the year.

Over the years Diaz has distanced herself from the film and media industry and zealously maintained her privacy. In an interview with Goop magazine in 2018, Diaz shared and said, “I decided to stop making movies and focus on my personal life, my personal relationships, my family, my friends.” The actress added “you are there 12 hours a day for long months. You have no time for anything else, I should have actually taken it back, and taken responsibility for my life.”
