Exhibition: “Colonial Décadrage” at the Center Pompidou

“Colonial Décadrage” is the title of a small photo exhibition at the Center Pompidou that explores an immense history of the representation of the black body. The images come mainly from the museum’s collection: pseudo-scientific shots, with exotic fantasy or the eroticization of the black body and the journey begins with the colonial exhibition of 1931 and the reactions it triggers.
