Explosion at hotel in Texas leaves injured and one person missing

An explosion at a hotel in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, left at least 11 people injured and large pieces of a building scattered in the city center. The accident happened this Monday (8). The information is from CNN.

One of the victims is in critical condition, and two others in serious condition. There’s a person missing.

What was the explosion like?

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, there was a gas leak, but it is not yet possible to confirm whether this was the cause of the explosion. Works were taking place at the site.

The accident happened at the Sandman Signature Fort Worth Downtown Hotel, according to Craig Trojacek, fire department spokesman. The building is located close to the city hall and convention center.

An image from CNN affiliate WFAA shows debris on the street in front of the building. Parts of the building’s facade had been torn off in the explosion.
