Chennai,

Salem West ADMK expelled from ADMK Union Secretary AV Raju’s recent interview has become controversial. South Indian Film Workers’ Federation (Pepsi) president RK Selvamani has condemned the speech he made about actress Trisha and people from the film industry. The statement issued by him in this regard states;-

“AV Raji, who has been expelled from the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, has said some vulgar and slanderous things about the film industry on social media today. Actress Trisha has said a slander about the contest that took place in Couvatur in 2017. Not only that, many actresses, the actor Karunas has also published this low quality news regarding them.

They may have various reasons for attacking each other in politics. But we request you not to make unnecessary baseless accusations and base slanders on the women of the film industry in your political issue. South Indian Film Workers Federation strongly condemns such indecent and low class act.

We earnestly appeal to the Central and State Governments to stamp out this kind of defamatory attack on women and their femininity in this nation of India, from Panchayat Chairman, Member of Legislative Assembly to President of the Republic of India Murmu.

RK Selvamani said this.
