New Delhi: Union Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba’s tenure has been extended by one more year.

Rajiv Gauba is the Union Cabinet Secretary. As his tenure ended in August 2021, the central government had given him a one-year extension. As the term of this extension is about to end, now the central government has ordered to extend the work for one more year.

Rajiv Gauba, a 1982-batch Jharkhand batch IAS officer, previously served as Union Home Secretary. He was given the post of Union Cabinet Secretary for 2 years from 2019. He was instrumental in drafting the Kashmir Reorganization Bill, which bifurcated the united state of Kashmir into 2 Union Territories.
