Extensive vaccination campaign against polio in Jerusalem

Following a case of polio (polio) that was discovered in a 4-year-old boy from Jerusalem who was not vaccinated against polio as part of routine vaccinations, an extensive vaccination campaign began in the city. The source of the disease in this case, a polio virus that has undergone a change and may cause disease in those who are not vaccinated.

Since the beginning of the polio vaccination campaign, we have vaccinated more than 5,000 children in and around Jerusalem. As of 10:00 today (Thursday), the number of vaccinations performed by the milk drop stations of the Ministry of Health, the Jerusalem Municipality and some of them by Leumit in recent days have been vaccinated:

In view of the growing demand, the Ministry of Health ordered an increase in activity at milk drop stations in Jerusalem and the surrounding area. The Ministry of Health again calls on parents to make sure that their children have received all 4 vaccine doses and are vaccinated according to age. The vaccine doses provide complete protection against infection and transmission of the virus, and vaccinate the children who have not yet been vaccinated as soon as possible.
