Fab India was started in 1960 by John Bissell, an American. Bissell is coming to India to work with the Ford Foundation, which is headquartered in Delhi and aims to promote rural development. He married Bimala Nanda, a native Punjabi, and remained here. Bissell died in 1998. Now his son William Nanda Bissell is the stalwart of Fab India. Wipro’s driver Asim Premji is also behind the company.
