In January, it was reported that the initial budget of the initiative for the next 5 years is about 51 million euros. However, about ten days ago, the EU Ambassador to RA (or, as the RA Minister of Economy says, “Dear Ambassador”) Andrea Viktorin announced that the budget has doubled compared to the beginning of the year and amounts to 116 million euros. A number of experts, including non-Armenian ones, already express the opinion that this program actually has deeper substrata, and the West is not at all interested in the development of either Syunik region or, in general, Armenia.

The primary thing here is to create the most favorable conditions for them to realize their own geopolitical interests. By the way, some Russian media reports that “Resistant Syunik. “Team Europe” program, among other tasks, aims to prepare appropriate infrastructures for the opening of the so-called “Zangezur Corridor”.
