“Fact”. The work of corrupting the justice system to make the courts the sycophants of one person continues

It is clear who that “one person” is. Well, the energetic efforts of Karen Andreasyan and Grigor Minasyan did not go unnoticed and were “deservedly” appreciated not only in Armenia, but also “outside”. in particular, at the annual conference of the European Association of Judges, which took place in Athens on June 2, a rather harsh resolution was adopted regarding Armenia.

First, the European Union of Judges expressed concern about the “authority of the Minister of Justice to initiate disciplinary proceedings against judges, which are resolved in the Supreme Judicial Council. Granting such authority to the Minister of Justice, who is part of the executive power of the state, endangers the independence of judges.” Diplomatically, “concern” was mentioned, while this is a rather harsh remark, one might say. Furthermore, “The European Union of Judges finds the recent moves to prevent judges from speaking publicly, expressing any views or concerns about the functioning of the justice system completely unacceptable.”

Look, totally unacceptable. We don’t know if the President of the CSDP and his colleague the Minister of Justice will understand that they are being shown a yellow card that turns into a red one from Europe. Even more. “The European Union of Judges (EAJ) condemns such open abuses of disciplinary proceedings, which are aimed at restraining the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and freedom of speech of representatives of the judiciary to voice a critical word in matters related to the functioning of the judicial system.” After recording many disturbing facts and phenomena, it is understandable that such a damning summary was inevitable.

What is characteristic? the well-founded accusations of making the judicial system a footstool of the executive are aimed at the representatives of the government, who used to announce and still announce something about the independence of the judicial system, but in reality they are engaged in the diametric opposite. Will they perceive that their game is “on” and will they restrain their actions against the judicial system for the time being, or will such warnings be of no use, time will tell.”
