The Jonestur firm is one of the four financial companies mentioned by Muñoz’s front men in the case of the bribery notebooks, which made it possible to discover these maneuvers.

According to the testimony of Sergio Todisco and his ex-wife Elizabeth María Ortiz Municoytwo repentant of the cause of the notebooks, Jonestur was used to transfer money abroad for the purchase of an apartment in New York Plaza, among other operations. Some of its directors are already prosecuted.

The judges’ decision was made after the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation ordered that the Federal Court of Cassation should intervene in the resolution of the appeal, in line with what Hornos postulated. The Court revoked the resolution of the Federal Chamber of Mar del Plata and kept Judge Inchausti in charge of this investigation into corruption and money laundering.

In his vote, Judge Hornos highlighted that “the removal of a magistrate from hearing a case cannot depend on the parties limiting themselves to alleging without being able to prove a mere suspicion of lack of impartiality.”
