The festival of Bengali life ‘Bangla New Year’ is being celebrated across the country including the capital. And around this Pahela Boishakh, Boishakhi fairs are held in different areas of the capital. Which will last from a week to 10 days.

On Sunday (April 14), these fairs were held around Boishakh in Banshal, Sikkatuli Lane Park, Naya Bazar area of ​​Old Dhaka.

It has been found that this fair is organized to give joy to the residents of the neighborhood. Shops are lined up on both sides of the road. Colorful toys and food stalls have been set up by hanging tents or thick polythene on bamboo poles. Whistles and rattles are being played to attract small children.

Around 60 shops are sitting in front of Bangshal Millat School. These include – toys, variety of flutes, girls’ cosmetics, sweets, dates, bakharkhani, fuska, variety of jelapis, bangles and cosmetics, pottery shops. Apart from this, there are various rides for children including train, nagardola, magic boat.

People of different classes and professions visiting the fair are buying different products. Sharing joy with familiar friends and relatives. Bangshal Mela celebration committee member. Farooq Hossain Bepari said, this fair is organized around Eid and Bengali New Year. This arrangement is for the joy of the residents of the neighborhood. People come from different areas of Old Dhaka, including Keraniganj, to enjoy here. We organize to present our old traditions to the new generation.

Hemayet Hossain, who came to visit the fair with his family, said that he came from Keraniganj to visit with his family. I bought sweets and toys. The children enjoyed visiting the fair.

A young woman named Sadia Rahman said, I am busy all day. Today is Pahela Baisakh holiday. A fair is held in front of Millad School in Bangshal. I came to visit with my friends. Did some shopping and played fuska.

Rezaul Karim Reza, the owner of uncle-nephew fuska-chatapti shop, said that the sales are very good on the day of Pahela Baisakh today. Afternoon till late night sales are high.
