It was difficult for Farhan Akhtar to take the decision of divorce because of the children. Talking about that difficult time, Farhan Akhtar said, ‘It was very difficult. When I was young, my parents divorced. This was on my mind at the time of my divorce. I thought, I can not do this with my child! From this feeling I speak openly with Adhuna and them (children).’
Farhan Akhtar could not get out of some questions at the time of separation. Recalling that, the actor said, ‘I explained to the children that they are not responsible for this incident. It is a decision of two people who want to make this decision as friends. What we are doing is good. But this is something that I will have to carry with me for the rest of my life. Is it what they (the children) expected? How do I still feel about what happened to me as a child? I could not get out of these questions.’

After breaking up with Bhavani in 2017, Farhan Akhtar got into a relationship with Shibani Dandekar. Farhan-Shibani got married on February 19, 2020 after dating for a long time. This couple is having a great time in their married life.
