Around 3 pm, the car of newly-elected Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Farooq Ahmed entered the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury Sujan, who was already standing, welcomed him. Then the Ruddhara meeting began. New director Nazmul Abedin Fahim joined.

This was Farooq’s first office after being elected as president on Wednesday. Even after coming to the office after noon on Thursday, Farooq’s time is busy. Had a meeting with Fahim-Nizamuddin for more than four hours. Fahim left this meeting first. Before getting into the car, Fahim said that the standing committee has been finalised.

“We discussed a lot of things. Your matters will be informed in due course. The composition of the standing committee is almost final. I can talk about my responsibility only when it is announced.’

Farooq was elected as the president of the National Sports Council (NSC) as a representative. On the other hand, Fahim also became the director of BCB as a representative of NSAC. Faheem was the only director in Farooq’s first meeting. Chief Executive Nizamuddin was with him.

Even if Fahim does not open his mouth about the standing committee, he can get the responsibility of cricket operations. Jalal Yunus was last in charge. Jalal, who was in the BCB as a director on behalf of the NSC, has resigned. As Jalal is not available, Fahim is being considered for this position. Today’s meeting has strengthened this possibility.

After the fall of the Sheikh Hasina government, most of the directors went into hiding. 8 directors were present in the board meeting yesterday. The standing committee will be divided among them. Everyone has to take more than one responsibility.

Several BCB directors were aware of today’s meeting. When a director who was in the board meeting yesterday was asked about the standing committee, he said he had no idea about it. No one wanted to know about it.

The media’s curiosity increased about the meeting. Waited for the president to come out. Seeing the media workers at around 7:30 Farooq said, ‘You asked to talk less, why are you still there?’

However, one asked about a comment made by Sajjadul Alam Bobby, who is the representative of NSC. In Sajjad’s release, he alleged government interference. Hearing this question, he did not comment without looking. However, sitting in the car, Farooq said, ‘You will know all the decisions of the board within a week.’
