(Wilmington, Febuary 4, 2026) – A 29-year-old Wilmington man died Tuesday evening after a motorcycle crash involving two other vehicles in Wilmington, Delaware State Police said.

A motorcycle traveling at a high rate of speed collided with a car turning left, resulting in fatal injuries to the motorcyclist.

Troopers responded to the intersection of South Maryland Avenue and Reamer Avenue at approximately 8:20 p.m. on February 3, 2026, following reports of a crash, according to police. the preliminary investigation revealed a Toyota Tacoma was stopped in the left lane of eastbound South Maryland Avenue, preparing to turn left onto Reamer Avenue. Simultaneously,a Dodge Ram was stopped at the stop sign on southbound Reamer Avenue at South Maryland Avenue.

A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was traveling westbound in the left lane of South Maryland Avenue, approaching reamer Avenue, at what police described as an apparent high rate of speed. As the Toyota began to turn left,the motorcycle collided with the passenger side of the Toyota. The impact caused the Toyota to spin and strike the front of the Dodge Ram, police said.

The operator of the Harley-Davidson was transported to a local hospital where he later died. his name is being withheld pending notification of his family, authorities stated.

The drivers of the Toyota,a 32-year-old man from Wilmington,and the Dodge Ram,a 66-year-old man from Newark,did not report any injuries,according to police.

The roadway was closed for approximately 1.5 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared.
