Differences of opinion among film organizations regarding Higuita film. FEFCA Writers’ Union stands against the Film Chamber’s move to ban the name Higuita. The film is based on NS Madhavan’s book
Director Hemant G Nair said there is no connection. Fefka supported Hemanth who clarified that the name of the film cannot be changed.
But NS Madhavan stated that before making his story into a film, he was worried about someone else taking that name. No copyright issue. His argument is legally untenable. NS Madhavan said. He added that talks are going on to make his story into a movie.
Film Chamber is preparing to discuss with the crew of the film. An explanation will be sought from the director including the issues raised by the story writer. But the workers’ claim is that the name registered three years ago has expired, so it was re-registered.
Suraj Venjaramood and Dhyan Srinivasan are expected to hit the screens at the end of December.
