Spanish Cinema & Television Honored at 2026 Feroz Awards

The 2026 Feroz Awards, recognizing excellence in Spanish film and television, unveiled its nominees on January 24th at the Pazo da Cultura de Pontevedra. Film Nominations: A Battle of Critically Acclaimed Titles

The dramatic film category is particularly competitive, with ‘On Sundays’ leading with nine nominations. Other strong contenders include ‘Maspalomas’ and ‘Sirât’, both receiving seven nominations each. ‘Pilgrimage’ and ‘Deaf’ closely follow with six nominations apiece.

‘Little Faith’ received nominations for Best Comedy Series, Best Leading Actress in a Series (Esperanza Pedreño), Best Lead Actor in a Series (Raúl Cimas), Best Supporting Actress in a Series (Julia de Castro and Maria Jesus Hoyos), and Best Screenplay for a Series.

‘Superstar’ earned nominations for Best Comedy Series, Best Leading Actress in a Series (Ingrid García-Jonsson), Best Supporting Actress in a Series (Rocío Ibáñez and Natalia de Molina), Best Supporting Actor in a Series (Secun de la Rosa), and Best Screenplay for a Series.

‘Anatomy of a Moment’ was recognized for Best Drama Series, Best Lead Actor in a Series (Alvaro Morte), Best Supporting Actor in a Series (Eduard Fernandez and Manolo Solo), and Best Screenplay for a Series.

‘Jakarta’ received nominations for Best Drama Series, Best Leading Actress in a Series (Carla Quílez), Best Lead Actor in a Series (Javier Cámara), Best Supporting Actor in a Series (David Lorente), and Best Screenplay for a Series.

Acting and craft Awards: Celebrating Individual Excellence

The awards also celebrate individual performances. Ángela Cervantes, Miriam Garlo, Patricia López Arnaiz, Nora Navas, and Blanca Soroa are nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Motion Picture. Mario Casas, Álvaro Cervantes, Sergi López, Jose Ramon Soroiz, and Alberto san Juan are competing for Best Leading Actor in a Motion Picture.

In the series categories, Anna Castillo, Ingrid García-Jonsson, Esperanza Pedreño, Candela Peña, Carla Quílez, and Carolina Yuste are nominated for Best Leading Actress in a Series. Javier Cámara, Raúl cimas, Ricardo Gómez, Álvaro Morte, and Luis Zahera are vying for Best Leading Actor in a Series.

Special Recognition: The Fierce Honour Award

This year’s Fierce Honor Award will be presented to Marta Fernández-Muro, recognizing her notable contributions to the Spanish film industry. The winners of the Feroz Outburst Fiction and Nonfiction Awards are yet to be announced.
