Ferrovial announces an investment in Spain in the midst of a crisis due to its change of headquarters to the Netherlands. Just one week after the company announced that the Board of Directors communicated that it plans to go public in the Netherlands and the United States, the Spanish infrastructure giant finalizes the purchase of two photovoltaic solar energy projects with a total installed capacity of 100 megawatts.

The Energy Infrastructure and Mobility division will invest 75 million euros once the “usual precedent conditions in this type of agreement” are met, which will mean the creation of between 250 and 300 jobs, the Ibex-35 listed company has assured in a statement.

Ferrovial expects to receive the permits to start construction between the second and third quarters of this year and start operations during the second half of 2024. Once active will join the El Berrocal plant of 50 megawatts, in the province of Seville. This asset is under development and will begin service in the middle of this year.
