Kingsway Estate Celebrates Festive Season with Rotary, Santa, and Community Spirit
A heartwarming Christmas event brought festive cheer to the Kingsway estate, drawing approximately 100 residents for an afternoon of family-friendly activities and community bonding. The event, a first of its kind for the estate, was spearheaded by the Hatton Rotary and featured a visit from Santa Claus, creating a memorable experience for local families.
A New Tradition Takes Root
The inaugural event saw Santa Claus and his sleigh make multiple stops at the Kingsway Centre, delighting children and families. Attendees enjoyed a range of activities, including face painting and bauble decorating, fostering a sense of togetherness and holiday spirit. “We watched Santa in his sleigh and my girls loved seeing Elsa as well,” shared a local parent. “There was lots to do in the Kingsway Centre for all ages and it kept them entertained for hours. The face painter was amazing and they loved decorating their own baubles. We would definitely go again.”
Greatwell Homes Invests in Community Wellbeing
The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of Greatwell Homes, a leading housing association in Northamptonshire, alongside the Hatton Rotary and a local organization called Made With Many. Greatwell Homes, which manages over 5,200 properties across Wellingborough, Kettering, Raunds, and Northampton, has a stated commitment to building strong, sustainable communities.
“It was a really lovely event,” stated a community involvement manager at Greatwell Homes. “This was the first time we have done an event like this on the Kingsway and we’re so glad to see around 100 people from the estate attending.” The housing association views initiatives like this as crucial to creating safe and secure environments for its residents.
Local Businesses and Donors Contribute to Success
The success of the Christmas celebration was further bolstered by generous contributions from local businesses. Greggs Wellingborough provided baked goods for attendees, while Mobysoft offered a £500 donation to support the Christmas party. These contributions underscore the strong sense of community support within the region.
The event highlights the importance of collaborative partnerships in fostering vibrant and connected neighborhoods, demonstrating how local organizations can come together to create positive experiences for residents.
