/ The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) approved the “Egypt Capital Championship” to be part of the FIFA series on the international agenda during the period from 18-26 March.

FIFA announced, in an official statement on its website and official social media pages, that the experimental series during the year 2024, topped by the Egyptian Capital Championship, will be the model for adopting the series on an expanded basis in the coming years.

FIFA said: “This year’s trial version has been expanded to include four additional teams, namely Croatia, Egypt, Tunisia and New Zealand, to compete in Cairo from March 22-26.”

The statement added: “We seek to facilitate the tasks of the FIFA series to promote larger matches between teams from different continents, which otherwise do not have regular opportunities to play friendly matches across continents.”

He explained that the series will be held in Algeria, Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (two tournaments), in addition to Sri Lanka in 2024, before Egypt joins as the fifth host of the series.
