England captain Harry Kane against Senegal to solve the goal drought in the World Cup
FIFA World Cup 2022: England beat African champions in pre-quarters Three Lions won by three goals without opposition. Jordan Henderson (38), Harry Kane (45) and Bukayo Saka (57) scored for England. With this, the stage is set for a super fight between France and England in the quarter.
Senegal managed to hold on to England’s lead until the 38th minute of the match but Henderson gave England the lead with an accurate finish from Bellingham’s assist. After the goal fell, it was seen that England was ruling the field. England took the lead in extra time in the first half.
England captain Harry Kane, who won the Golden Boot in the last World Cup, could not find a place on the score sheet this time. But that shortcoming was solved in the match against Senegal. Kane scored from Phil Foden’s pass on the counter-attack.
A third goal in the 57th minute gave Senegal no chance of a comeback. Phil Foden paved the way this time too. Darts down the left wing and cuts a measured pass into the box. Bukayo Saka was only tasked with kicking the ball into the net. This is England’s 12th goal in the World Cup.
