Social Prosperity will lead the delivery of monetary transfers to taxi drivers through “Competaxi.”
The Government has taken a step to mitigate the economic impacts derived from the increase in the cost of gasoline, announcing a support measure aimed at taxi drivers. Under the “Competaxi” program, A one-time transfer will be implemented with the purpose of alleviating the economic and social difficulties faced by these workers.
The allocation of this transfer will be focused on individuals, households and communities that are in situations of poverty and socioeconomic vulnerability. To carry out this initiative, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit and the Ministry of Transportation have carried out an exhaustive analysis to determine the amount and the identification procedure of drivers eligible to receive this benefit.

Once the potential beneficiaries have been identified, Prosperidad Social, an entity recognized for its effective targeting system, will carry out the validation through the Social Registry of Households.. In addition, rigorous anti-fraud procedures will be implemented to guarantee transparency and compliance with the requirements established for the delivery of the monetary transfer.
“The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transportation approached Social Prosperity to tell us: ‘Since you have such effective targeting systems, help us find the taxi drivers who are in Sisbén so that they can make the transfer,'” he stated. It is important to highlight that the “Competaxi” program will be regulated with a one-time delivery, benefiting up to 2 drivers per vehicleas long as they comply with the requirements and application process established by the relevant entities.
