Two Fires Injure Residents, Cause €300,000 in Damage in Frankfurt

Two residents were injured and significant property damage occurred following separate fires in Frankfurt’s Bergen-Enkheim and Sindlingen districts on Thursday evening, authorities reported. The Frankfurt fire department responded to both incidents, working to contain the blazes and provide medical assistance.

Sindlingen Apartment Fire Causes Extensive Damage

The first emergency call came in around 7 p.m. regarding a fire on the third floor of an apartment building located on Küferstrasse in Sindlingen. Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to other units within the building. The homeowner, suffering from injuries, was transported to a local hospital, though their condition is not considered life-threatening.

The resulting material damage is estimated at approximately €200,000. Due to smoke and water damage from the extinguishing work, the apartments on the affected floor are currently uninhabitable.

Bergen-Enkheim Home Fire Briefly Threatens Roof

Approximately two hours later, at 9:50 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to a second fire on Fritz-Schubert-Ring in Bergen-Enkheim. Initial reports indicate the fire originated on the balcony of a single-family home, with flames briefly extending to the roof.

The resident of the home sustained minor injuries and received on-site treatment from paramedics. Police estimate the property damage from this incident to be around €100,000.

Investigations Underway

The causes of both fires remain undetermined at this time. Fire investigators from the Frankfurt criminal police have launched investigations into both incidents to ascertain the origin and potential causes of the blazes. Authorities have not ruled out any possibilities as the investigation continues.
