by time news

LATEST: VG is informed by the head of operations in the police, Dag Erik Johannesen, around 10.15 p.m., that they have control of two people who are arrested near the centre.

The police received a report on Tuesday evening that there had been a fire inside Bergen storsenter.

– The fire was out when we arrived at the scene. The fire crews were met by guards who told them that there had been a fire, and that they had extinguished the fire, duty commander at the 110 central Håkon Myking tells BA.

It was then discovered that there was a fire in a rubbish bin.

To BT says the operations manager in the West police district, Dan Erik Johannessen, that they believe there is a connection between the fires.

– It appears to have been set on fire, both the first fire and the second. We secure both video images and other things, so we have hope that we will be able to find out who is behind it, says Johannessen to the newspaper.

According to duty commander Håkon Myking at the 110 central, there was a fire in a sack of plastic waste, according to BA.

Shortly after the fire brigade arrived at the scene, they noticed new fire inlets in two boilers at the bus terminal on the outside of the shopping centre’s south side.

Center manager Odd Rune Bjørge takes incidents of fire very seriously. He says that he is handing over surveillance material to the police to clear up the case.

– Everything indicates that it was planted. Now we have to find out who was behind it, says Bjørge to BA.
