TOKYO – A new animated installment in the iconic “Fist of the North Star” franchise is set to debut on January 5, 2026, offering a darkly comedic take on the post-apocalyptic world. The short, titled “Fist of the North Star: The Elegy of the Zakos,” promises a unique perspective, focusing on the struggles of those on the fringes of the brutal landscape.

Broadcast Details
The series will initially air on AT-X every Monday at 20:00, with repeat broadcasts on Wednesdays at 8:00 am and Fridays at 2:00 pm. TOKYO MX will also broadcast new episodes every Monday at 21:54.

Hiro Shimono lends his voice to Nobu, while Shinnosuke Hai voices Zaku. Masaaki Yano plays Birds, and Shinya Takahashi provides narration. The animation is directed by Daisuke Miura, with art direction by Mirai Iwai and color design also credited to Iwai. Sayoko Ito is the director of photography, and Takuma Hase and Yuma Saito handle direction and editing. Seiji Miura composed the music, with the opening theme “Blacker Co., Ltd.” performed by Itsuka▶︎ and the ending theme “Elegy of the Enemies” by The Campbellz.
