The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by torrential rains in the Brazilian province of Rio de Janeiro has risen to 171.
Heavy rains in the mountainous city of Petropolis have caused landslides and increased casualties in many areas.
More than a thousand people have fled their locations. In addition, the search for 126 missing persons has been intensified. Hundreds of firefighters are involved in rescuing those trapped in the landslide.
