Florida’s Turnpike Hit by Second Major Crash This Week, Disrupting Traffic in Orange County

Though, the southbound lanes of the Turnpike, between I-4 and State Road 528, were fully blocked for several hours as crews worked to clear the wreckage and contain the fuel spill. Traffic flow resumed around 6 a.m., but residual delays were expected throughout the morning.
This incident follows a fatal crash on Wednesday in osceola County,where a driver was killed after his tractor-trailer collided with the rear of another and afterward caught fire. Another driver sustained injuries in that crash and was transported to a local hospital. That incident also resulted in the complete closure of the southbound lanes of the Turnpike for an extended period.
