In August of this year, National Airlines of Armenia “Fly Arna” managed to pass the International Air Transport Association (IATA) operational safety audit (IOSA) and receive an IOSA safety certificate, this is an achievement for both the airline and the country.

In a conversation with “Armenpress”, Gayane Antonyan, representative of “Fly Arna” airline company, spoke about the achievements of Sochi International Airport to be ranked among the most punctual airlines.

Airlines pass this operational safety audit on their own initiative. “Fly Arna” is the first and currently the only airline in Armenia that successfully passed the IOSA audit and became an IOSA operator.

“By receiving the IOSA certificate, “Fly Arena” sends a signal to the world that Armenia is a safe aviation market, and thus, we are sure, helps Armenia restore its ranking in the global aviation market. During the IOSA audit, compliance of all processes and procedures of “Fly Arena” with global aviation standards was carefully studied and assessed,” said the spokesperson.

Antonyan elaborated that during the IOSA audit, it was studied in detail how flight planning and management is carried out, what safety control procedures the company uses, what procedures are used for aircraft technical and ground maintenance, how well the company’s manuals meet international standards and whether the airline’s flight crew has adequate training for safe flights.
