Thiruvananthapuram: KPCC president K Sudhakaran has suggested Fly in Kerala to replace the K Rail. The new proposal of the Congress is to have an air service similar to the town-to-town service of KSRTC. It takes about three hours to reach Thiruvananthapuram from Kasaragod. K Sudhakaran has suggested a detailed outline through his Facebook page. Sudhakaran claims that the cost will be only Rs 1000 crore.

Fly’in Kerala: A Silver Line in the Sky

The existing system from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram in four hours can be slightly modified. That too for just 1000 crore.

Should it borrow ₹ 1.33 trillion and make future generations completely indebted? Need to demolish ordinary people’s beds?

People protest in the streets on Silver Line; Opposition backs CM

Protests are raging against the Silver Line project. Along with the people who are losing their land, the Opposition is intensifying its struggle against the boundary stone laying. But Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reiterated that he will not back down from the plan even when the protests are a street war.

Kerala is heading towards an unparalleled struggle with the housewives taking the stage against the Silver Line stoning. The situation in Malappuram was similar to what happened in Kottayam the other day. The stones were removed, including the women. People protested in Tirur Venganur and Chottanikkara. After a dispute between the police and the locals, Venganur avoided throwing stones at the Juma Masjid. Although stoning in the church yard was avoided, stoning in the backyards of houses continued with the help of the police. But these stones were thrown out by the natives.

But Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reiterated that none of the announced projects are on paper. Pinarayi reiterated that the projects will be implemented with the support of the people. The CM came to the scene when the state-wide protest against K Rail was met with street clashes. The Chief Minister rejected the recent protests in Kottayam and other places against the land acquisition and blamed all the protests against development. The Chief Minister harshly criticized the Opposition. The CM said that the Congress was trying to obstruct the progress of the country and the BJP was taking a similar stand. It is clear that the Chief Minister will not back down even when the UDF state-wide support for the people’s struggle is widespread.

The UDF has decided to take up the Silver Line agitation against the government after the assembly session. The senior leaders themselves are leading the struggle by throwing stones. The people are protesting against the K Rail project. Satheesan clarified that the boundary stones will still be uprooted.

Not only the Congress but also the BJP is tightening its grip on the silver line. The BJP has announced that it will defend itself if it comes to throwing stones at a project that is not sanctioned by the Center. The CPM’s defense has repeatedly accused the Congress, BJP and SDPI of joining hands to block development. But when the Opposition decides to take up the people’s struggle and move on, the political battle will continue in the days to come.
