For 19 months: Lior Assulin goes to prison

by time news

Almost a year after he was convicted, Lior Assulin began serving his 19-month prison sentence today (Wednesday) at Maasiyahu Prison.

As you may recall, the former footballer was convicted of drug trafficking offenses through the “Telegrass” app and this morning, as mentioned, went into actual imprisonment, not before of course saying goodbye to his relatives.

Assouline played for dozens of teams in Israel, including Maccabi Herzliya, Betar Jerusalem, Bnei Yehuda, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Hapoel Beer Sheva and even managed to play for a short time in the Cypriot team Apollon Limisol.

In addition, after retiring from active play, he was even appointed coach of Hapoel Kfar Bara in the second division – about six months before he was convicted.
