Tigran Markosyan mentioned that these problems were collected in the Committee for Protection of Competition, and regulations were initiated at the legislative level. According to him, taking into account the European experience, the Law “On Trade and Services” was already adopted in 2022, which entered into force on July 31, 2022.
According to the member of the committee, if the requirements of the law are violated, the entrepreneur can be liable for up to 5 percent of the previous year’s income, which in some cases can be large sums.
“For the sake of justice, it should be noted that the sector has significantly improved. The minimum requirements are generally met,” he said.
According to Markosyan, last year they carried out active monitoring activities before Black Friday. More than 80 actions were carried out, proceedings were initiated against 35 businessmen.
“The commission imposed a fine of 100 million drams,” he said, noting that they are hopeful that the businessmen who have contacted the commission at least once will exclude the violations in the future, because in case of repetition, the next step will be more difficult, they will have are a case of duplicity.
