In December, the company will book additional capacity for daily pumping through the gas pipeline at the auction. The volume of reservations began to decline last week: on December 17, Gazprom bought 27 million cubic meters, on Saturday – 5.2 million, on Sunday – 4.2 million, and on Monday – the minimum for the month 3.8 million from those offered at the auction 89.1 million. All previous days in December, Gazprom bought out 31.4 million cubic meters. m.

Since Monday, Gazprom has not at all reserve capacities, therefore, since December 21, Yamal – Europe has been operating in reverse mode, pumping gas from Germany to Poland.

As Bloomberg found out, Gazprom cut supplies due to the fact that some European consumers, who have exhausted their supply limits under long-term contracts, are unwilling to pay for additional volumes at much higher market prices.

Russian President Vladimir Putin also explained the situation by the lack of applications from European buyers. According to him, the reverse regime allows Europeans to resell gas purchased under long-term contracts.
