The National Workers’ Housing Fund Institute (Infonavit) announced that it is currently conducting investigations against several officials at the state agency of Jalisco, as well as other entities.
According to Carlos Martinez Velazquez, director of Infonavit, the reason for this situation is primarily the alleged commission of various crimes.
As part of this, the managers from the Jalisco state office and the regional delegate were replaced.
Reason for the investigations
Martinez Velazquez shared that Infonavit is conducting investigations against several of its officials, specifically in Jalisco and other entities, including Guerrero.
The director of Infonavit indicated that this is due to the fact that several collaborators would have benefited illegally from their positions.
Martinez Velazquez listed the following crimes under investigation:
- Alleged falsification of documents
- Social security fraud
- Irregularities in the management of support resources delivered to the beneficiaries of the port of Acapulco affected by Hurricane Otis in 2023
The Public Prosecutor’s Office will be responsible for conducting the investigations, with the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic (FGR) determining the level of guilt and issuing sanctions.
Infonavit Jalisco fires officials linked to investigations
Martinez Velazquez’s confirmation of the investigations against Infonavit officials is related to the recent decisions taken by the Jalisco state office.
Previously, Ramon Gomez Armentia was removed from office as Infonavit delegate in the entity, and Ricardo de Jesus de la Torre Briseño was appointed in his place.
Initially, the state office of Infonavit claimed the changes were part of a restructuring, but the true reason was later revealed.
