Electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles will reach cost parity after 2030, according to Ford CEO Jim Farley, writes Reuters.

According to the company’s CEO, electric cars will be more expensive than cars with internal combustion engines until second and third generation electric cars are put into production. In addition, in 2030–2035 production costs can decrease due to lower labor intensity. Future generations of such machines will have smaller batteries and smaller parts, Farley said.

The head of Ford noted that the achievement of price parity will be facilitated by sales on the Internet.

In April, the analytical agency Avtostat noted a 95% increase in sales of new passenger electric vehicles in Russia in the first quarter of this year. In addition, according to the agency, the Russian brand Evolute came out on top in sales, overtaking Volkswagen and Tesla models.

Company “Rosgosstrakh“and GC” Aavtodom “in a joint survey, which was published in early May, noted that about 40% of Russians plan to purchase an electric car, and 5% want to switch to a hybrid car that drives both an internal combustion engine (ICE) and and battery power.
