According to the press release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmood requested the resumption of visas for all categories of Bangladeshi workers in all trades in all emirates of the UAE, simplification of visa procedures and ease of transfer of work permits from one employer to another employer.

There is no hindrance in the employment of Bangladeshis, the UAE’s human resources minister said, adding that the UAE government is emphasizing on hiring skilled workers based on the needs of the technology-driven job market.

He informed about the use of AI and related software for the recruitment and management process in the UAE and highlighted the skills screening of job seekers.

In this context, Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmood informed about the Bangladesh government’s initiative to increase the skills of the workforce going to the Emirates and announced the appointment of language trainers from the United Arab Emirates to prepare Bangladeshi workers according to the needs of the job market there.

In the meeting, the Foreign Minister referred to the recruitment of Bangladeshi nurses in Kuwait and requested the Emirati side to recruit qualified nurses and medical professionals from Bangladesh. The UAE minister welcomed the proposal and assured to examine the Kuwaiti recruitment model in the upcoming joint technical committee meeting in Dhaka. Both sides also discussed the welfare of Bangladeshi expatriates in the UAE.

When Foreign Minister Hasan Mahmud highlighted the challenges of using UAE ports to repatriate seafarers signed off with CDC, the UAE minister assured that his ministry would look into it urgently.
