Ungrd Supreme Court summons Petro government officials
– 2024-05-09 04:09:38″>Olmedo López, former director of the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (Ungrd), has decided to take advantage of a principle of opportunity and will meet with the Prosecutor’s Office next Tuesday, May 7. The revelation of this legal measure has generated expectations about the possible delivery of crucial information about cases of corruption in the Government. López has already prepared a collaboration matrix that he will present to the authorities, as long as he receives protection.
López’s possible statement will complement the information previously provided by the entity’s former deputy director of Disasters, Sneyder Pinilla, who revealed details about the delivery of money to Name and Calle, starting a chain of bribes that, according to his statements, dates back to October of 2023.

López’s testimony could clarify the source of the orders to channel financial resources to legislators and the meetings prior to the regional elections of October 2023, where these payments would have been made. In addition, it is expected that the possible involvement of senior government officials will be investigated, including ministers and the then director of the Administrative Department of the Presidency of the Republic, Carlos Ramón González.
This corruption scandal reveals a complex plot of bribes and hidden agreements within the government apparatus, with the aim of facilitating the processing of the reforms proposed by President Gustavo Petro in Congress. At the moment, the main people involved in the scandal include the president of the Senate, Iván Leonidas Name Vásquez, the president of the House of Representatives, Andrés David Calle Aguas, as well as Ungrd contractors and other high-ranking officials such as the former deputy director Víctor Andrés Meza and deputy director Luis Carlos Barreto Gantiva.
