Former minister KD Rajendra Balaji, who was wanted in a fraud case, was arrested by the personal police in Karnataka on Wednesday. Two more people were arrested, including the AIADMK executive who was with him.
Former minister KD Rajendra Balaji has said that he will hire people in various fields for Rs. Vijaya Nallathambi, brother of former legislator Kalimuthu and former AIADMK executive of Vembakkottai, has lodged a complaint with the Virudhunagar District Crime Branch alleging fraud of Rs 3 crore.

8 special forces were set up to arrest him. Police, who have been searching for Rajendra Balaji for the past two weeks, rushed there on suspicion that he may have been hiding in Kerala and Karnataka. However, the whereabouts of Rajendra Balaji could not be ascertained. Subsequently, the police issued look-out notices to all airports to prevent him from fleeing abroad.

The Special Forces also arrested Pandiyarajan (35), secretary of the AIADMK IT division in Virudhunagar West district, and Ganesan, a relative of Rajendra Balaji, who were with him at the time. Police have also arrested two more persons for allegedly helping Rajendra Balaji to escape.
