Due to irregularities in the consulting contract, a judge issued a conviction against Rodolfo Hernández.
Former presidential candidate Rodolfo Hernández was found responsible for committing some irregularities in a consulting contract related to the Municipal Cleaning Company of Bucaramanga (Emab), as determined by a judicial ruling issued by a criminal judge of the Bucaramanga circuit (Santander).
The case, known as the Vitalogic scandal, noted Hernández to benefit his son with the award of consulting contract 096 of 2016which had the objective of advising on the proper management of waste at the El Carrasco final disposal site.
The Attorney General’s Office demonstrated that Hernández Suárez, former mayor of Bucaramanga for the period 2016-2019, directed said contractas author, in favor of the engineer Jorge Hernán Alarcón Ayala, for a value of 336 million pesos.

The forcefulness of the evidentiary material presented by the Prosecutor’s Office led the criminal judge to issue a conviction against Rodolfo Hernández Suárez for the crime of undue interest in the execution of contracts.
The indictment of charges against Hernández Suárez took place in February 2020, and the respective sentence will be known on June 13 at 2:00 in the afternoon.
This case has generated great controversy in public opinion and has called into question the ethics and transparency in the management of public resources during the administration of Hernández Suárez in the Bucaramanga mayor’s office.
