Former radio director Andreas Blum dies – TOP ONLINE

Radio SRF reported his death on Monday. Blum grew up in Zug and trained as an actor in Zurich and studied history and philosophy in Bern. He initially worked as a radio journalist and actor. He became known, among other things, for his participation in the television series “Salto Mortale”.

Blum was also a top athlete for years. In the 1960s and 1970s he was one of the top Swiss athletes in the modern pentathlon. He also made a career in politics. He sat for the SP in the Bernese cantonal parliament from 1974, from where he moved to the National Council a year later.

At work, Blum championed quality journalism throughout his career. Among other things, he was also involved in the Bread for Brothers action committee, Amnesty International, Exit and Swiss Solidarity. Andreas Blum leaves behind a wife and three children.
