San Salvador. Through the Solidarity Fund for Health (Fosalud) an investment of about $2 million is executed to remodel the facilities of the various health units in the country.
With this, it is sought that Salvadorans have adequate and decent facilities when receiving medical attention, explained the director of Fosalud, Carlos Núñez.
With the funds allocated, the infrastructure of 125 units that are still pending will be improved, the official explained, this Thursday, May 11.
He also argued that the improvement of each establishment may imply an investment of between $18,000 and $40,000, depending on the size of the place and the works to be carried out, so that users receive the attention they require, in adequate and peaceful conditions.

“We have uninterrupted care during the week and weekends, 184 health units have extended hours, of these 69 work at night from Monday to Sunday, and on weekends, during the day,” he explained. In the health units that Fosalud provides services, it does so on weekdays from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., while in the rest it does so on weekends and holidays, from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This guarantees that the population can receive care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
