Four Israeli Soldiers Killed In Hamas Attack Near Gaza City

GAZA CITY, sept. 8, 2025, 7:59 p.m. EDT – Four Israeli soldiers were killed Monday morning in a Hamas attack on the outskirts of gaza City, the Israeli army announced in the evening.

Sergeant Uri Lamed,20,from Tel Mond; Sergeant Amit Arye Regev,19,from Modiin; and Sergeant Gadi Cotal,20,from Kibbutz Afikim have been identified. All three served in the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Armored Brigade. The army stated the name of the fourth soldier would be released later.

The attack occurred around 6 a.m. in the Kafr Jabalia area.Preliminary investigations suggest three or four Hamas militants targeted a military camp shortly after the troops returned from a nighttime operation.


Militants reportedly approached a tank, shot its commander, and then threw an explosive inside, killing all four soldiers. another soldier from the Nahal Brigade sustained moderate injuries during the incident.

Soldiers at the scene returned fire as the attackers fled. It remains unclear how many of the militants were hit.
