Four “Iraqi” citizens were arrested this morning (Thursday) at the Aziza International Airport in Argentina after it was discovered that they arrived with fake passports, claiming to be Iraqis. The arrest warrant was issued by federal judge Federico Villena minutes after they were detained by immigration officials stationed at the airport. The detainees were about to board a KLM plane bound for Amsterdam. They are suspected of being members of the Revolutionary Guards, Argentine media reports.

After the alert from the National Directorate of Immigration, the Airport Security Police (PSA) personnel contacted the Federal Court which ordered their arrest. The detainees are between the ages of 20 and 23, they came from Brazil and were looking for a way to enter the European continent. Two of the detainees are women, Suzan Addo, Salma Al-Salem, the two men are Saad Kolo, and Masoud Faidi. The four are being checked by Interpol to see if they are connected to terrorist elements.

It is assumed that their final destination was France as they had fake French passports. A security source was quoted in the local media as saying, “The Iraqis came from Brazil and tried to reach Europe this morning. They were transferred to the federal court of Lomas de Zamora, where they are being interrogated with the help of a translator.”

The federal judge handling the case is Federico Villena, he is the same judge who is responsible for the investigation of the suspected plane with Iranian crew members that arrived in Venezuela in Argentina last June and had people suspected of being members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards on board.
