This is the first time that France has dropped humanitarian aid into the Palestinian enclave since the start of the conflict. According to the Elysée, a humanitarian cargo drop was organized by a Franco-Jordanian military team on the night of January 4 to 5, 2024.
Thanks to a directional system, 7 tons of humanitarian and health aid landed near the target of this operation: the Jordanian field hospital established since November in Khan Younes, in the Gaza Strip. Jordan had already carried out several operations of this type since October 7, 2023.
